What is the Mosaic?

The Mosaic of Mankind is lots of things; A Guinness World Record attempt for the JIGSAW PUZZLE WITH THE MOST PIECES, a work of art, and a global statement, all rolled into one!

So how does it work?  Simple!  1,000,000 people will sign up and each person will upload a favourite photo to be included in the Mosaic.  Each photo will become one piece in the 1,000,000 piece jigsaw puzzle… Yes, you and your friends can each have your very own picture in the JIGSAW PUZZLE WITH THE MOST PIECES IN THE WORLD, the Mosaic of Mankind.

When all 1,000,000 pieces are filled, the Mosaic of Mankind will actually be built and put on display, and application for a Guinness World Record will be made.

The Work Of Art:

But it gets better than that!  The 1,000,000 pieces in the Mosaic of Mankind will be like tiles in a normal Mosaic!  Those 1,000,000 tiles will be shuffled around to form a huge picture which will only be revealed when the Mosaic is finally unveiled for the world to see.

Actually, the Mosaic of Mankind is so massive that we have broken it down into 1,000 ‘Mini Puzzles’ so you can keep your friends close! (well really the Mini Puzzles are not so mini because each one is 1,000 pieces on its own!)

When you sign up you will get to choose which of the 1,000 mini puzzles you want to be on, and by telling your friends about the Mosaic of Mankind, and making sure they sign up to the same Mini Puzzle as you, you will be sure to keep your friends close to you when the final Mosaic is built.

You and your friend’s pieces may end up anywhere within your mini puzzle, and your mini puzzle may end up anywhere within the Mosaic, but you can be sure that you and your friends will be together on the same mini puzzle, no matter what.

The Global Statement:

The Mosaic of Mankind is all about giving everyone an equal voice and an equal place. Capturing in small pieces one big picture of who we are, what drives us, and where we are going.
